The International Development Finance Club’s 2022 Green Finance Mapping Report highlights a landmark achievement in green finance commitments, with IDFC members collectively reaching a record $288 billion, up 29% from 2021. This impressive total underscores IDFC’s pivotal role in channeling funds toward climate goals, bringing cumulative green finance since the Paris Agreement to over $1.5 trillion. The report reveals significant growth in both mitigation ($244.7 billion, up 31%) and adaptation finance ($31.6 billion, up 52%), notably reflecting a surge in water preservation initiatives. With green finance comprising 24% of total new IDFC commitments, the club is on track to meet its ambitious target of $1.3 trillion between 2019 and 2025, as outlined in the IDFC State of Ambition. A new 3-year program also supports IDFC members in strengthening green finance tracking, emphasizing the club's commitment to global climate resilience and environmental progress.
